The CRS Japan Association for Cellular Agriculture (JACA) held its 5th Cellular Agriculture Research Group meeting on Friday, August 7, 2020, inviting Alex Shirazi, co-host of the Cultured Meat Symposium (CMS), as a speaker.
The CMS, which Mr. Shirazi co-hosts, has been organizing guest lectures related to cultured meat mainly through podcasts, and in recent years has been organizing an annual symposium that attracts about 400 participants.
Mr. Shirazi gave a presentation on the trends in the cultured meat industry and the future prospects for collaboration between cultured meat manufacturers and existing food companies, based on his observation of many cultured meat startups in the US and other countries.
During the question and answer session, Mr. Shirazi and the participants exchanged information about the potential for consumer acceptance of cultured meat in the U.S. and trends in cultured meat community organizations.
