The rise of protectionist tendencies in the United States is resulting in a shift away from multilateralism and an increasing use of economic leverage in bilateral negotiations, while China is increasing use of domestic market demand and foreign aid for its foreign policy objectives. The economic statecraft program focuses on various ways in which countries use their economic means to pursue geopolitical goals.

From the Russian intervention of US Presidential elections to China’s attempt to influence Australian politics or foreign policy stances of various countries in the EU, the influence operations program looks at the types of influence operations that is currently occurring and considers how we can prevent them.

This program looks at various aspects of rule-making activities that address social issues (ie. hydrogen energy policy, food shortage, disaster relief and mitigation in cities) and trade policy issues (ie. TPP, RCEP, FTA, EPA).

Music, movies, anime, Japanese food, and so much more. The soft power program focuses on new and unique ways to create Japanese soft power.

This program will consider the solution and analysis of international security issues from the viewpoints of international relations and strategic studies, but especially from the geography and geopolitical perspectives.
